I first stumbled across this game when the developer posted on android forums! Having seen all sorts of claims of "this game is fantastic" I was skeptical at first but figured I'd be nice and give this app a try.
To be honest, first impressions were just ok. There were a few problems with the app that I made the developer aware of, and to my surprise, the developer not only responded but also FIXED the problems with the game! To me, this says a lot about the work that the developer put into the app and quality that they are hoping to achieve with the app.
This game has two different game modes; classic mode and drop mode. Each equally as fun and each equally addicting.
Classic Mode: Classic
mode is a blast and would be the mode I would recommend for first time gamers! The game starts off with a screen full of different sized fish; small is a yellow/green, medium is blue, large is a pink/purple and extra-large is red.
The goal with this game is to eat a fish with the next (larger) sized fish without running out of time.
The medium eats the small fish, large eats the medium fish and extra-large eats the large fish. After you a fish eats three fish, it'll grow to the next size. When an extra-large fish eats THREE fish it'll POP! This will create combos (and extra points) when they POP and are touching other extra-large fish and this will earn you extra time. You can also make an extra-large fish
POP by clicking on it.
Tip: When an extra large-fish is ready to POP on it's own, it's face will change from a smile to a frown. This means that once it eats one more fish that it will POP on it's own.
*Bonus: There are also times when you will see mines that appear on the screen. You can click on the mines to clear rows and set off combos.*
Time is kept by the light blue bar at the top of the screen. When time runs out, your game is over. Time initially starts off slow but will speed up as the game progresses.
Typical game time is usually around 7-10 minutes which is great for those days you get to work a little bit early or are stuck waiting at the
doctors office.
Drop Mode:
Drop mode is also very addictive and is a nice twist for when you get bored with classic mode! Unlike classic mode, this version of the game starts off with a completely empty screen. From top of the screen, fish will begin to fall like blocks falling in the game of Tetris. The fish are the same as in classic mode, that is, small is a yellow/green, medium is blue, large is a pink/purple and extra-large is red.
The goal with this game is to eat a fish with the next (larger) sized fish without completely fill the screen.
The medium eats the small fish, large eats the medium fish and extra-large eats the large fish. After you a fish eats three fish, it'll grow to the next size. When an extra-large fish eats THREE fish it'll POP! This will create combos (and extra points) when they POP and are touching other extra-large fish. It will also clear the screen and open up options for new moves!
